What is Narrowtracks?

Narrowtracks is a site dedicated to railroads, both model and prototype.  Actually, the name narrowtracks has to meanings.  First of all, model railroads are smaller representations of real railroads, thus, models have a smaller gauge or "narrow tracks".  Secondly, I am most interested in prototype railroads that were narrow gauge.  Here in the United States, that usually means 36" gauge.  I like the 36" gauge as well as 24" gauge or even 30" gauge.

What makes this site unique is that I am most interested in the Narrow Gauge railroads of the Eastern United States.  Specifically, those of Maine, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and states in between.

What results on this site is a collection of pages dedicated to Eastern Narrow Gauge, 2-Foot Railroads, Sn2 (My modeling scale), and Eastern Logging
