Sn2 Modeling

Tad's Home Page is devoted to his many modeling projects.  Foremost is his Sn3/Sn2 Colorado Mining layout.  Additionally, Tad has a freelanced S scale Maine two-footer called the Moody River Railroad.

Train & Trooper is a hobby shop that specializes in two-foot modeling.  Their S Narrow Gauge Page lists many S-Scale 2-foot modeling items.

Click on the English link at the top of Stefan Nilsson's Home Page to see the progress on his Swedish Sn2 layout.  Being in Europe, Stefan has has chosen to use 009/HOe mechanisms and track instead of HOn3.

Kenji Toma has constructed scratch built several HOn30 locomotives.  Now he has started on an Sn2 Forney.  Go to his home page to check out his craftsmanship

Kennebunk Models produces Maine 2-Foot kits for On2, Sn2, & HOn30.

Portland Locomotive Works manufactures HO, S, and O scale kits which are based on Maine 2-Foot prototypes.

Maine 2-Foot Quarterly Publications produces M2FQ magazine (specializing in the Maine 2-Foot railroads and modeling), and had a list of drawings, photos, and books about the Maine 2-Foot railroads and other narrow gauge railroads interests.

Sn3 Modeler is dedicated to publishing information related to S scale narrow gauge modeling.  The primary focus is Sn3, but articles and product announcements pertaining to Sn2 are included

Ola Sjoblom is working on an Sn2 Project inspired by Scandinavia narrow gauge railroads.  Follow the link to see how he uses N and OO9 equipment to model Sn2 industrial lines.

Historical Societies

Billerica & Bedford Railroad web pages has a nice history of the First 2-Footer. 

Bill Kerr has create a  World Wide Two-Foot prototypes page.

Brecon Mountain Railway - This tourist line is Wales Is in the process of building SR&RL #10 and #23 replicas.

Boothbay Railway Village Home Page is devoted to preserving transportation history and features operating trains and antique automobiles.

Bridgton Historical Society is devoted to preserving the history of the Bridgeton.  A major part of that history is the B&SR railroad, so go to their site to learn more about the B&SR

The Gilpin Railroad Historical Society's objectives are to preserve and promote the Gilpin Railroad.  The group publishes an 8 page quarterly and has an annual convention.

Ffestiniog Railway North Wales - Independent Railway the "original" two-footer is still operating today.

Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company & Museum in Portland, Maine operates a collection of trains from Maine's historic two-footers.

Maine 2-Foot Images from Keith Wandry.  Time-warp with these images taken at the 2-Foot museums and historical societies.

Official home page of the Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Railroad.  The group is hard a work expanding their operations on a small portion of the original SR&RL in Phillips, ME.

New! SD Warren Paper Company had a 2' gauge railroad.  The site, hosted by the Warren Library, has an image of one of the locos and many images of the paper company.

The Welsh Highland Railway Project in Wales, is another example of two-footer heritage.

The Official Home Page of the WW&F Railway MuseumThey do operate 2-Foot trains. Going to the WW&F's picnic is like time travel.  See a few shots of the WW&F in action.

The WW&F Railway folks continue to lay more track on the original WW&F right of way.  Check Jersey George's journal of the 2000 WW&F Track Laying weekend.  2000, not enough, how about the 2001 WW&F Track Laying weekend?

USGS maps of Maine (New England) from 1900-1950 is a great source of topographical maps of the Maine 2-Footers.

SR&CL Ry is a 7.5" Live Steam railroad inspired by the Maine 2-footers.

HOn30 Home Depot is more than just HOn30 modeling.  It has links to other 2-Foot sites and modeling ideas.

Bill Kerr and the members of the On2 group at yahoogroups have put together a Maine 2-Foot FAQ.  Lots of great info captured on this FAQ.

Bill Kerr has a wonderful On2 SR&RL layout which depicts Strong, Phillips, Rangeley and Marbles.

Scott Lawrence has been doing wonderful modeling.  He's the first known modeler on 29n2 (two foot gauge prototypes on S gauge track) and he's begun to model in On2 as well.  Click here to see his 29n2 locomotive project and boxcar.  Click here to see he On2 Bachmann kitbashed passenger car (from On30 Bachmann).

Al Churella is building a most ambitious version of the SR&RL in On2.  Click here to see his version of the SR&RL.  A layout that features near scale sized scenes.  Be patient, Al's web site features many large images that take a long time to download (recommended for DSL speed connections only).  Al's layout has been featured many times in M2FQ.
