It is more than just Eastern Narrow Gauge, learn more by going to the front page!

The goal of this page is to be a comprehensive list of links for Eastern Narrow Gauge Railroads.  However, the objective is to focus on the lesser know railroads.  To focus on the lesser known lines I have only included a few links to the EBT & ET&WNC.  If you would like to recommend a link, send email to eastern_ng@narrowtracks.com.  Anyone out there modeling Eastern Narrow Gauge?  Do you have a Web Site I can link to?

Tourist Railroads and Research

  • The Pine Creek Railroad in Eastern New Jersey is a 3' gauge tourist line.  One of the star attractions is SS&S #26.
  • In Michigan, the Huckleberry RR steams ex Q&TL #3, a 3 foot gauge mogul.  The Huckleberry RR, is just one part of the Crossroads Village.
  • The Linden and Torch Lake Railroad is a tourist that is trying to get going.  They are restoring an old steam locomotive.
  • The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is preserving the rail history of Pennsylvania.  The library can be used to do research on Pennsylvania Narrow Gauge and Logging railways.  Recently the museum reprinted the four Railroad Logging Era of Pennsylvania books written by Benjamin Kline.  These are books 1,2,12,&13 and are available from the museum.
  • The Panoramic Maps site has images of many towns and cities near the turn of the century.  The towns of several Eastern 3' gauge lines are shown.
  • National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has information about researching Railroads.  The most significant documents might be the ICC reports/maps.
