Thanksgiving (2003)
Fun and Progress
With
rain every day that our grandkids (ages 3, 4, 5 and 6) visited us, we
spent a lot of time in the basement. They always want to ‘run
trains’ as soon as they arrive. (They live about 7 hours away.) So, we
did that and my one locomotive with sound actually worked the whole
time.
Progress
came in the form of getting the rest of the 24’ yard in place. Switch
machines and controls are not hooked up yet, but moving 16’ at one
time was quite a project. The town at that location has been christened
“Mears.’ And Mears Junction is the official name for the junction
between the RGS and the SJS.
How
hard is Digitrax to run?? Well,
here is an example.
JT
- he is 6 - decided to run the trains, and I was not coming soon enough
to help. The system had been turned off, but before I got there, I heard
the ‘chuff’ of the locomotive. So, he switched it out of ‘sleep’
mode, connected the track power, selected the loco number and started it
up.
