I completed 2 Gilpin style caboose just before the Sn3
Symposium.
I'd like to thank Pete Smith for letting me
set up my Sn2 SR&RL layout at the Sn3 Symposium, and for providing gas
money to the event. It was a fine event. An even greater
thanks has to go to fellow modeler, Jim Stewart, who spent several weeks helping me
build trees and install scenery. Then Jim help transport the layout
to St. Louis (from Cincinnati), man (run) the layout, and return in a Snow
Storm. The layout ran great, and my Sn2 Backwoods Miniatures Porter
assembled by Rickety Rails, ran for hours.

It took Jim and I many hours to get the
birch trees in (constructed and installed), as well as the other detailed scenery around the Salmon
Hole bridge. This photo shows how the layout rests on tables.

Here, the Porter can be seen crossing the Dickey road
bridge

Paul Miklos built this mockup of the Phillips covered
bridge just before the meet. Paul has started construction on the
bridge, but has gotten sidetracked. The mockup shows how large
this structure is 2.5 feet long 75% of prototype.
